- Abstract
- The Fire Research and Safety Act of 1968, Public Law 90-259, authorized the Secretary of Commerce to provide, conduct, support, and coordinate a national fire research and safety program. A Fire Research and Safety Center to carry on this program will be organized and staffed at the National Bureau of Standards (NBS) when funding becomes available. This report describes the results of a study conducted at NBS as part of the planning for carrying out the terms of the act.
