- ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH The VdS Verband der Sachversicherer e.V. requested the National Swedish Test Institute to put various plastic storage tanks to tests for fire classification. The tests were supposed to determine how the tanks behaved when set in fire and how to suppress the fire. The test results for the various plastic tanks suggest that the sprinkler protection demanded for KLTs be also applied to other storage tanks made of PP and PE. Although KLT-tanks show a slightly different beahvior than those made of PE or PP with graphite addition, the test results do not give rise to a relaxation of the necessary protection by a sprinkler.
