- Abstract
- The USAF Airlift Center (USAFALCENT) tested TO 1C-141B-1 flight manual procedures for smoke and fume elimination and found them inadequate. This test group devised, tested and published successful procedures for the C-141 aircraft. The MAC staff then directed the USAFALCENT to test procedures for the C-130 and C-5 aircraft. This test will evaluate the C-5 flight manual and alternate smoke and fume elimination procedures. Additionally, an improved quick-don oxygen mask and smoke goggle combination will be tested. This evaluation will test this equipments ability to clear smoke from the goggles.
