- Abstract
- ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH Different uses, new constructional forms and steadily growing cost pressure hve, among other things, led to a considerable increase in risks, especially with regard to modern industrial architecture. The rigid implementing regulations of the building law alone do hardly suffice to conceive optimum fire protection schemes. At the same time, a much deeper knowledge of what is happening when a fire broke out and the effects of fire protection measures opens to the well-trained expert a numer of possibilites to draw-up comprehensive fire protection schemes comprising well-coordinated measures and tailor them to suit the special reqirements of each individual case. Fire protection engineering is a new science of engineering evaluating the results of international scientific research and preparing them for the fire protection engineers to use them in the field, thus opening a wide scope of action to a greater number of specialist engineers.
