- There is still a great deal of reporting going on in the Persian Gulf region. Hundreds of oil fires lit by Iraqi occupying soldiers are still burning in Kuwait. Pillars of smoke and flame have risen high into the air. It is difficult to breathe from the ashes and soot, and the sky is dark like night all the time. And in addition to the ecological disaster to this once prosperous country lies the economic tragedy: every day millions of dollars go up in flames.
