- Abstract
- Results are presented of the evaluation of a technique to determine the following fundamental flammability parameters of materials using a labortory-scale flammability apparatus: 1) apparent heat of gasification; 2) heat flux from the flame to the surface; 3) rate of heat release--actual, convective, and radiative; 4) rates of generation of combustion products, including toxic compounds; 5) rate of generation of smoke particulates and optical transmission through the smoke.
