- Abstract
- There are various approaches to solving smoke movement problems in design and hazard assessment. Here the data from experiments on small-scale shopping precincts which have been used, when scaled up, for design purposes are re-examined in the light of simple 'zone-model' theory. This re-examination illustrates the usefulness of simple plume theory even when the space geometry is rather more complicated than a conventional rectilinear box.
