- Abstract
- To develop a coordinated aviation industry position prior to the regulatory authorites issuing a ruling requiring cabin water spray (CWS) technology in commercial aircraft as a means of increasing passenger evacuation time following a post crash fire accident. To establish an industry position that best represents the concerns and needs of the aviation industry, both manufacturers and operators, on the propsed rule to implement cabin water spray systems for post crash fire protection through: investigation of the CWS technology merits, its potential to save lives in post crash fire scenarios, development of costs installation and operation, review accident data and estimate the net safety benefits for improved passenger cabin safety.
