Abstract
Methods for extreme-value analysis (for the Type 1 extreme-value distribution) that have optimum properties involve up to 20 quantities (depending on sample size) whose values are known to 6 decimal places. The present note shows how to modify these to much simpler values involving 2 decimal places that are more convenient to use yet sacrifice very little of the optimum features.
