Abstract
The toxicities of combustion products are very disparate and any adequate evaluation of the problems associated with inhalation of thermal decomposition products must include a variety of separate indices of toxicity. A comprehensive test scheme has been devleoped and is being used to evaluate the polymeric foam materials of the PRC sample bank. Work with PRC samples which has been presented in the past includes respiratory depression due to sensory irritation, physiological stress index for sample weights up to 2 grams and a variety of physical characteristics. In this report we are extending the physiological stress index to larger sample weights. Evaluation of acute mortality by determination of LC50 has been completed and the data classified in comparison to reference materials. Pathology data is now available for some of the material.
