- The purpose of this Guide is to enable the user to write a fire pumper specification with sufficient detail to ensure selection of an apparatus that most closely meets community needs. Part 1 contains an overview of the need for this Guide, the problems it helps solve, and a brief summary of how the Guide fits into local procurement procedures.
