Abstract
Previous studies in this laboratory have examined the effects of toxic combustion products using a continuous (Sidman) avoidance schedule. This schedule was shown to be a sensitive indicator of the effects of carbon monoxide (CO) and CO temperature interactions. For this reason, we have continued to examine the effects of toxic combustion products using this avoidance schedule. For all experiments, adult male Long-Evans rats served as subjects. The rats were individually housed in a temperature and humidity controlled room with a 12-hour light-dark cycle. Food and water were available at all times, except during the experimental session
