Abstract
[Abstract in English] A fire of n-heptane was conducted using a small-sized tunnel to investigate the relation between the burning rate and the temperature in a tunnel. The width and the length of the tunnel were 0.6 m and 7.28 m respectively. The height was changed in the range of 0.15-0.75 m. Fuel surface areas were 112 cm2 (10.6 cmx10.6 cm) and 225 cm2 (15.0 cmx15.0 cm). The temperatures of the flame, the ceiling and the hot air in the tunnel were measured and the heat radiation from them to the fuel surface was evaluated. The burning rate of the fuel was calculated based on the heat radiation. As a result, it was found that the calculated burning rate agreed sufficiently with the burning rate measured before.
