- Abstract
- Experiments emphasizing the upward and downward propagation limits are conducted on three polyurethanes, NBS-GM29, 31 and 37, all of them char producers and on paper samples. Other measurements include the downward flame spreading rates of GM29 and GM37. The technique of sandwiching a sample of rectangular cross section between metallic plates and then igniting it on one end in a controlled atmosphere is shown to be adequate for this purpose.
