- [ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH] The development and production of automatic fire detection equipment in the former GDR was, to a decided date, in quality and knowhow comparable with the average European standard. The volume of production of automatic fire detection systems was not in good correlation with the existing respectively reached level of research and development in this field. But the theoretic necessity developing automatic fire detection equipment was well known. At the end of the 70th in the former GDR the research and development of automatic fire detection equipment in the whole was frozen in on the reached level. The main reasons for problems caused in that decision resulted from a very small range of products and severe restrictions for their use on the other hand. Altogether it can be pointed out that the situation of fire safety was improved to a certain amount with the available equipment in spite of the existing restrictions and lacks.
