Abstract
The goal of our study is to seek to understand the causes and conditions of fracture when glass is subjected to high temperatures. There are three primary situations which could cause glass to fracture under thermal stress. They are: miscellaneous scratches, large temperature gradient through the thickness of the glass, and uneven temperature distribution across the surface of the glass (assuming that the general temperature profile on the surface is the same through the small thickness, even though the magnitude of the temperature will change).
