- Abstract
- [ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH] With the increasing number of automated fire detection systems installed worldwide, the detection performance of these systems must be substantially improved in order to get the number of unwanted alarms down to a tolerable level. This paper discusses important aspects which influence detection performance of multi-sensor-detectors. Beside the state-of-the-art sensor design, powerful algorithms and distributed intelligence are key elements. For optimal performance, algorithms need to be adopted to the application. The adaption flexibility is demonstrated with test fires at different altitudes and exposure to hard test-environments in the field.
