- Abstract
- [ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH] This paper discusses different architectures of existing and future fire detection systems. Conventional or collective systems are still in widespread use. Some ten years ago, addressable systems and so called analogue systems became available. In systems recently introduced to the market, like in Cerberus' AlgoRex, signal processing is distributed between the detectors and the control- and indicating equipment. This state-of-the-art architecture has been made possible and commercially attractive thanks to advantages in microelectronics. As a result, AlgoRex offers novel features and reliable operation at attractive cost not otherwise possible. Such features include reliable and adaptable detection, very good discrimination between true and unwanted alarms, extensive diagnostic functions, and far-reaching support functions for commissioning and servicing.
