- Abstract
- The aim of this project was to get a base for a revision of EN 1021-1 and -2, the European standards used for assessing the ignitability of upholstered furniture when ignited by a smouldering cigarette or a match flame equivalent gas flame. In the first part of the project a number of parameters being a possible reason for varying results were identified. Earlier work within CEN were used to identify these parameters. They were then studied systematically in the second part of this project. Effects of the soaking and conditioning were studied by Centexbel and VTT. The specimen preparation and the application of the burner were studied by LNE. RAPRA and SP investigated the effects of variations in each of the ignition sources.
