- Abstract
- The title of this talk is a misnomer. Polymeric materials are inherently neither safe nor unsafe. The safety of any material can only be determined by its use. For example, I can take a piece of polymeric material, encase it in concrete, and there will be no fire hazard. I can take the same material, apply it to the wall of a room and it may create an instantaneous hazard.
