- Abstract
- Fire doors have been investigated and classified as 3 hr, 1-1/2 hr, 1 hr, and 3/4 hr for many years. Recently, there has been a revision to some Building Codes, suggesting that there seems to be a need for 30-min fire doors. The Standard for Fire Tests of Door Assemblies, UL 10(b) has incorporated provisions for testing 20 and 30-min fire doors for many years, but apparently there had been no need for such a test of 30-min fire doors up until the revision of the Building Codes.
