- Abstract
- The objectives of the study were fourfold: first, to alert loss control field staff to the type and frequency of problems and the resulting need for recommendations concerning fire protection systems; secondly, to inform underwriting of the extent of problems to determine any possible or needed changes in the value and reliance on fire protection systems; next, develop suggested changes to NFPA Standards based on our findings; and finally, identify needed areas of staff training dealing with fire protection systems. The survey was conducted nationwide with questionnaires completed between September 1, 1990 and November 30, 1990 by members of the CIGNA Loss Control Services field staff.
