- Abstract
- A survey of standardization and measurement services in the Philippines was carried out in May, 1975, as part of a National Bureau of Standards program sponsored by the Office of Science and Technology of the Agency for International Development. The Survey Team included five NBS staff members, one other U.S. participant, three third-country participants, and a number of Philippine specialists. The Survey was made under the direction of Mr. Vidalito F Ranoa, Director of the Philippine Bureau of Standards. the team was divided into five groups which concentrated on: Technical Standards Committee Management, Metrication, Building Technology, Technical Information Handling, and Testing Facilities. Each group made extensive visits to the governmental, academic, and private organizations and facilities relevant to their topic. In each area the report summarizes the existing situation, identifies current problems, and offers suggestions and recommendations for their resolution.
