- Abstract
- A major source of wall flows in compartment fires is the fire plume-driven ceiling jet which impinges on compartment walls at ceiling-wall junctures. Figure 1 depicts the wall flow phenomenon at the early stage of such a fire of total energy release rate, Q, before a significant upper smoke layer has formed. This paper will focus attention on the Figure 1 phenomena.
