- Abstract
- [Excerpt from the dissertation "Concerning the Integral and Differential Determination of the Concentration of Atmospheric Ions." Approved by the faculty of Machine Technology and electro-Technique, Technical University, Munich. 1963.] The air is constantly ionized because of the effect of natural radioactivity. Small ions are created which are in part transformed into medium and large ions by being joined together with aerosols. Since it has been shown that atmospheric ions have certain biological effects, the ions in the air have been considered with new interest by physics and technology. A number of new investigations are concerned with the so far unclassified structure of the ions. The following statements concern the measuring technique for determining the concentraion and mobility of ions. In addition some explanations are offered concerning the nature of atmospheric ions.
