Abstract
GBA developed and presented 130 seminars around the country to architects, engineers, regulatory authorities (AHJ's) and building owners to educate and inform them about performance-based design and to identify concerns and issues that affect their comfort level with modern fire safety engineering methods. Their findings are especially relevant to BFRL efforts to provide the tools and the scientific underpinnings to these methods. Examples of GBA performance design projects that are using BFRL tools and models are discussed. Some suggestions for user needs, including possible BFRL activities in model development and validation, supporting data and measurement methods, and systems reliability methodologies are presented. This seminar presents an unique opportunity to hear from those applying the results of BFRL programs in the real world along with some suggestions for meeting the future needs of our customers.
