- Abstract
- Soot formation in a hydrocarbon diffusion flame involves a series of distinct steps, which include (1) the production of precursor molecules, (2) chemical growth which results in the formation of numerous small primary particles, (3) particle growth by surface reactions coupled with coagulation and agglomeration, and (4) particle oxidation processes.
