- This book contains abstracts of the research work of a number of countries in the field of fire safety of industrial and civil buildings and installations. It acquaints the reader with the methods and results of some contemporary research, principles for devising computational methods of assessing the fire hazard of buildings under design, for various purposes, fire-protection requirements imposed in the design and construction of residential and public buildings (including highrises), industrial plants, atomic powerplants and computer centers. The conclusions and recommendations brought out in the book can be taken into account in practical and research work. The book is intended for building engineers (designers), scientific and practical workers in the fire service and other organizations involved in the design, construciton, development of standard requirements in the field of fire safety and supervision of these requirements.
