Abstract
The report contains a summary of experiments carried out in the Large Building Test Facility at Cardington, UK. The experiments were performed during 1996 as a joint venture between Fire Research Station, UK, Lund University and SP, Sweden. The swedish participation was sponsored by The Swedish Fire Research Board (BRANDFORSK). A series of experiments were performed with an extensive instrumentation. Two different fuels were used, industrial methylated spirit and kerosene with three different fire sizes, 0.4, 2.0 and 4.8 MW. Experimental results are presented for gas temperatures, wall surface temperatures, gas velocities, optical density, chemical species, and heat flux. The results represent a valuable contribution as a set of data for verification of computer models, especially CDF models.
