- Abstract
- Smoldering combustion of solid fuels has only recently been recognized as a major fire safety hazard and, for this reason, it has not been extensively studied. On the basis of our experience in studying certain aspects of smoldering in such fuels as polyurethanes and cellulosic insulation, we have attempted to survey here the breadth of the problem posed by smoldering combustion.
