- This paper discusses the effect on British ships of fires caused by action damage during the Falklands campaign. Ships were damaged by such actions on twenty occasions and in nine of these major fires occurred. Five ships were lost as a result of extensive fires. The reasons for the spread of fire and problems in fighting them are discussed.
