- Abstract
- This project was established to originate concepts for next-generation fire extinguishing agents. In Phase 3, an effort to develop a substitute agent to replace Halon 1211 in Air Force firefighter training was initiated. Laboratory-scale investigations of flame extinguishment by chlorofluorcarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorcarbons (HCSCs) were performed. Laboratory studies of physical properties of CFC blends were also carried out.
