- Abstract
- The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) operates an accreditation program for laboratories testing bituminous materials which uses the laboratory inspection and proficiency sample programs provided by the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL). AMRL is located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Maryland. AMRL operates under a memorandum of agreement between AASHTO and NIST. Accreditation decisions are made by AASHTO through its Subcommittee on Materials.
