- Abstract
- To study the effectiveness of spage-age materials for improved fire safety, several room fires were held. Full-scale bedrooms, either with on-the-market items or space-age materials, were furnished and then fire tests were conducted to obtain data on the comparative fire hazard. The Typical Room, the Improved Room, and the Mixed Room had varying results. The Space-Age Room, furnished completely with new materials that were not yet commercially available, did not ignite under the common ignition conditions.
