- The Factory Mutual Test Center, the best-equipped large scale fire testing facility of its kind in the world, is located in a forest clearing overlooking a woodland pond in rural West Glocester, Rhode Island. The building, dedicated to the memory of Zachariah Allen, founder of the Factory Mutual System, covers more than an acre (0.4 ha) on a 1500-acre (600 ha) tract. The Center is one of Factory Mutual's finest contributions to progress in property conservation.
