- Abstract
- In 1985, the Center for Fire Research (CFR) at the U. S. National Bureau of Standards (NBS) began studies of oil spill combustion. This work seeks to quantify the processes involved in oil spill combustion on open waters and in water filled channels formed in broken ice including measurements of smoke production and prediciton of smoke dispersal.
