Abstract
The program system entitled 'FIREX' is a computer program package primarily intended for estimation of the main fire characteristics and responses of hydrocarbon fires in connection with oil and gas production taking place on offshore installations in the North Sea. The system may also be used in connection with the process industry on land dealing with liquid and gaseous fuels. A rather simple prediction of the characteristics and responses of explosions in the open are also included in the system.
