- Abstract
- The Smoke Detector Operability Survey is a cornerstone of a joint project between the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Congressional Fire Services Institute, the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), and the National Fire Protection Association. Numerous other private and public organizations, including the Department of Housing and Urban Development, are also participating in this project and have a strong interest in the results of the survey. The survey provides information on the operability of smoke detectors in American households.
