Abstract
Knowledge of the spacial distribution and intensity of chemical reaction within the volume of turbulent diffusion flames has important practical applications as in the case, for example, of a fire plume entering a layer of oxygen-depleted air, where the ultimate goal is to predict the development of the flow after the plume has crossed the discontinuity in ambient conditions.
