- In literature and discussion several critical questions have been raised in the past concerning the utility of methods for testing, rating and classification of synthetic polymers according to the more than 700 standards for fire testing used worldwide. In this presentation the most important questions of general nature are being discussed concerning the utility of traditional test methods for testing plastic products, the need for special tests and randing systems for this group of materials and the feasibility of future reduction of this variety of tests.
