- The paper considers the definition of fire hazard and what it implies in case of a fire. By considering the whole spectrum of a fire six types of fire hazards have been identified, each related to a particular stage of fire development. For each hazard its essential components are identified and the main issues consodered. The examination provides a framework for the development of hazard assessment and quantification of hazard levels. Modelling offers a practical solution to evaluation.
