- Abstract
- Means were sought to reduce the smolder tendency of porous wood fiberboard, which has been the ignition source in serious fires. Vulnerability to smolder was found to result from carboxylic metal salts, principally those of calcuim and magnesium, in the alpha-celluose content of wood fibers.
