Abstract
[Abstract in English] Modern EDP-Centers are monitored by an automatic operating system which allows a regulated shut down of the EDP hardware components in case of any problem with the EDP-system. In the case of fire - for the time being - it was usual to shut down the hole EDP center with the consequence of a large damage through a long term business interruption. Modern fire safety concepts based on cabinet detection and high sensitive smoke detection system provide an information transfer to the EDP monitoring system when a fire starts. The signals from the fire panel to the automatic EDP operating system are transferred via an intelligent interface (RS485). In case of fire a situation-dependent alarm procedure and a regulated shut down of the respective components is possible.
