Abstract
The importance of attempting to determine the true cause of a fire cannot be overemphasized. In general, fires are assumed to be accidental until proved to be otherwise. It is always well, however, to be watchful for conditions that may arouse suspicion as to the origin of the fire. Determining the origin and cause of fires is the responsibility of everyone in a position to observe the facts - starting with the responding fire fighters and carrying through to the courts in cases where arson is invovled.
