Abstract
The National Building Research Institute was established in 1988, on the basis of the existing Building Research Station, as a joint venture of the Israeli Ministry of Construction and Housing and the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Its main objectives remain advancement of knowledge in the Building Sciences through methodological research, and direct assistance to the building sector in solution of special design problems, overall evaluation of new building methods and components, economic studies, and preparation of national standards and specifications. The present volume of PUBLICATIONS includes 24 reprint papers which have been published throughout 1992. Since the main purpose of this collection is to further increase an effective exchange of information with building scientists and practitioners elsewhere, the individual authors will gladly provide more information on the research findings presented in their papers, to any interested party which requests it.
