- Abstract
- Smoke development of two different polyamide carpets has been evaluated on the NBS smoke density chamber under flaming and smouldering test conditions. The same carpets, FR-treated with chlorinated and brominated products as well as with aluminiumhydroxide have been submitted to the same tests. Smoke development appears to be influenced by the characteristics of the carpets as well as by the nature of the FR agent applied. Aluminiumhydroxide appears to decrease the smoke development of the polyamide carpets, even when used in combination with other FR agents.
