- A summary report was prepared to acquaint the reader with the content, purpose, and results of the analyses and tests contained in Dynamic Science Report 2310/20-71-44 entitled "An Assessment of Automotive Fuel System fire Hazards". Subject report documents a program conducted for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to establish an information base from which could be developed motor vehicle safety standards in regards to fire hazards associated with the failure of fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems in motor vehicle accidents. Selected portions of the report have been included in this summary in order to present the nature and scope of the analyses and tests.
