- These devices make a substantial contribution to the safety of occupants and building. However, they do not seem to detect a type of fire which is responsible for a great number of home fire deaths. The source material provided seems to show some bias, but is believed to be substantially correct in matters of fact. The home fire escape training given by those who sell this device is effective and commendable.
