- Abstract
- The British Standard for stress graded timber, BS 4978, requires that all machines grading to that Standard must be approved and operationally controlled by BSI under the Kitemark Scheme, PRL are employed as technical advisers to BSI and carry out tests on machines to determine their acceptability and also to determine the control settings used by the machines during operation. It should be noted that not all machines put forward have been approved.
