- Abstract
- To secure information relevant to questions that have been raised concerning the adequacy or correctness of the requirements for the construction of chimneys and fireplaces in the Federal Housing Administration Minimum Property Standards, a search was made of pertinent literature available at the National Bureau of Standards. In addition to a review of this material, a further bibliography of papers of interest was prepared. To the extent possible, answers with cited references were supplied for the points raised. It was suggested that while research data were not in every case available, practical experience could be a source of supplemental knowledge.
